Supporting schools located in rural Taiwan has always been a long-term goal for CDF, as suggested by our Nutrition 100 program, which provides subsidies for schools to enhance the nutritional value of students’ lunch meals. In 2011, we designed an extension of the program known as, Lunch Date: One-Day Chef, in which teams of CDF’s employees volunteer to prepare an assortment of dishes on-site and serve them to students for lunch to create an unforgettable dining experience. By travelling to remote parts of Taiwan and interacting with the schoolchildren and teachers there, employees are able to develop greater insight into Taiwanese society and welfare.
